Introducing a BRAND NEW 4Cats medium… drum roll please…
But what is it exactly? Macramé with an artistic twist! Working on a wooden dowel, students will learn about yarn-knotting macramé techniques AND be introduced to the experience and process of dying yarn with watercolours. Students will also delve deep into colour theory, choosing shades and tones that complement or contrast.
This project will have students thinking in depth about shape and design, starting off with a detailed plan on the pattern they want, but also the unique ways to layer the dyes to achieve it!
Creativity and imagination will guide this project, as students create their very own designs.
Every day is a new and exciting day here in our lovely little studio, and this upcoming fall session of Exploratory classes we are introducing all NEW and exciting projects! Each class will start off with your art teachers presenting 2 projects for students to choose between and get started on that very day. Depending on the project, the student will continue to work on this chosen project for the next couple of classes (now 1.5 hrs long) or they can choose to start something new and go back to the first project when they feel inspired.
To learn even more about how our fall classes work, please check out our blog posts below
And remember, we love to have parents come into the studio after class for our Gallery Show of all the art students worked on that day! Students are so excited to show off their projects, and we love the chance to talk to parents and answer questions! It is a wonderful time to share in the joy of art.
Ok, have a great day everyone! We are off to load our gnomes into the kiln!
See you at the studio!
