In real life, things move! But not in paintings or statues; that didn’t stop Edgar Degas from creating art that makes us think of real life zooming by! Probably because he really liked sports with a lot of movement!

Drop-off only

Register: select studio

Regular price $199.00

Projects: A mouse acrylic on canvas painting, experimenting with charcoal sketches, creating story scene sculptures, a mini charcuterie boards, a clay mouse house door!

  • drop-off → you can arrive up to 5 minutes before class starts.
  • pick-up → please come anytime in the last 5 minutes before class ends.
  • different pick-up person? → let the instructor know at drop-off if someone else will be picking up your child.
  • older kids walking home? → please also let us know at drop-off if your child has permission to leave on their own.

✨ thanks for helping us start and end the day on time — it keeps the whole studio running like a well-oiled paintbrush.

  • cancellations → we do not offer refunds at any time. if you need to cancel, we can issue a 30-day credit (to be used on future camps or classes) if you let us know at least 2 weeks before class starts. less than 2 weeks’ notice = no credit.
  • late pick-up → please be on time. late pick-ups may result in a fee ($25/20 min/child) — and a very grumpy instructor.
  • drop-off only → parents don’t stay during class — kids get the most out of it when they’re fully on their own.
  • finished artwork → most pieces take about 2 weeks to be glazed or fired. we can hold finished artwork for up to 2 months only. please pick up by this time.

We want class to be fun, safe, and inspiring for every kid. here’s what we expect (and celebrate!) each day:

🌟 What we love to see

  • curious questions
  • kindness + teamwork
  • respect for classmates, staff, and art materials
  • following safety rules so everyone stays happy + paint-covered (in a good way)

🚫 What doesn’t fly

  • ignoring instructors
  • hands on other kids (keep them on your own art!)
  • aggressive, disruptive, or rude behaviour

⚠️ if expectations aren’t met, we’ll call you to pick up your child right away. no credit or refund will be provided.

✨ bottom line: when kids show curiosity, kindness, and creativity, everyone wins 🎉.

What people are saying about our kids classes

We have LOVED the classes. Excellent quality of teachers that inspire the kids to create, learn, and have fun. Our son has never been particularly enthusiastic about art and now looks forward to his weekly art sessions. We love seeing his increased interest in both the art AND artists, as well as his growing skill sets. Can’t recommend highly enough.

-Maura S.

Thank you for making such a fun, creative and stimulating environment for artwork. My daughter has absolutely loved it and I am very impressed by all the projects they get stuck into!

-Tamsin

I do enjoyed the weekly reports and ALL her projects. I love them.

What makes our exploratory classes unique?

Your kid is going to love famous art galleries—and telling you stories about the lives of famous artists—after these classes!

4cats is famous for our Exploratory classes, where students explore the lives of artists who followed their passion & dreams to live the life they imagined. Students create unique art inspired by each artist’s life, style, & mediums.

At 4cats, we put an incredible amount of effort into these classes—we even developed a series of kids’ books, videos & trading cards to go along with this interactive, creative experience.

5 reasons why parents love exploratory class

1. Artistic Adventures Through Time & Culture

Exploratory classes takes students on a creative journey through art history and cultures—no passport required! They’ll explore famous artists from around the world, uncover stories behind the artists, and create their own inspired art along the way.

2. Creative Exploration & Skill Building

Every project is designed to build key skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, and imagination. Through painting, sculpting, and more, they’ll connect art with science, history, and storytelling — making learning colourful, engaging, and fun.

3. Friendship & Fun

Art class is a place to make friends and unforgettable memories. Kids bond over shared creativity, laughter, and lots of joyful messiness—because great art (and fun) can be a little messy!

4. Nurturing Environment for Creativity

Our cozy, supportive setting encourages self-expression and confidence. Every child feels valued as their creativity blooms, and they experience those “Proud Picasso” moments that boost self-esteem.

5. Masterpieces, Memories & Lifelong Passion

Students take home not just their art, but lasting memories and a a sense of accomplishment, and a lasting passion for learning and creativity.

Meet Edgar Degas

In real life, things move! But not in paintings or statues; that didn’t stop Edgar Degas from creating art that makes us think of real life zooming by! Probably because he really liked sports with a lot of movement! Degas made art from the magical moments of everyday life and was a pretty funny guy, too—he liked to jokingly call the ballerinas he painted and sculpted “les petits rats” because they scurried around the dance studio like little mice and were always moving! Edgar loved painting, sculpting, and drawing. Edgar’s art shows us the fabulous side of Paris—the people, the food, and the little rats, too!

Class Updates

Wonder what your child is doing in class? Wonder what they are making? Wonder no more! Within a few days of each class, we will send you a little email report about the class and a summary of what the students learned. ♡
